Short Stories on the way!

So I've been on a tear editing some of my finished short stories. You heard about Seeker in my last post - which, by the way, has gone through a name change and is now called Magic Gone Bad - but I also have 4 others that are in final edits and should be ready for covers by the end of the weekend, if not sooner. Each will be sold individually as well as part of an anthology so stay tuned!

My newest short story - Seeker - is now fully edited and will be ready for publication soon!

Short story number two is now fully edited! Named Seeker, it will be submitted for publication once I create a cover for it. Time to grab the next story up for editing!

New Cover Coming Soon for The Gift of Life!

I decided a new cover was in order for The Gift of Life so I pulled a few photos from Pexels.com (which can be used for commercial use) and my daughter, with some minor input from me, whipped together a new one. I'm excited about it! Stay tuned; I'll post it once Amazon approves it.

Amazon Rankings - Smile Inducing!

Being new to self-publishing, my learning curve is steep and absorbing all the new information is exciting! Imagine my surprise when learning that Amazon shows ranking information when you view a publication on their website. Then imagine the smile on my face when I saw this a few moment ago:

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #132,216 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)
#94 in Religious Science Fiction & Fantasy (Books)
#55 in Religious Short Stories
#41 in 45-Minute Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Reads

I know the low rankings are in very tiny categories, and it's based off of two sales only (to put it in perspective) but it's still neat to see!

If you want to be my third sale, you can find my short fantasy read at:

I took the plunge! First story submitted to KDP for publishing

I've finally taken the plunge! A few moments ago, I hit the submit button, sending my first short story to KDP for publication. It will be in the review stage up to 72 hours from what I understand and hopefully will sail through! Of course, I just had to commit a "newbie" mistake, haha. Forgot to mention that it was a 6k short story in the description so when it's published (optimism!), I'll be making my first book detail change relatively quickly. 🙂

Entering the world of self-publishing!

I've been wanting to take the next step with my writing and finally decided how I want to do that. This weekend, hopefully, I'll take my first foray into the world of self-publishing by putting my first story on Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). It'll be a 6k short story - baby steps for now - but it will be a big move in a new direction for me! I'll still explore publishing through the more traditional route also (though one can argue that self-publishing is the new "traditional" I suppose) as I believe in exploring multiple avenues. Stay tuned for more details!
